Who Can Foster
Who Can Become a Foster Parent?
We believe the best families come in all shapes and sizes. You don’t need to be perfect — you just need a safe home, a steady life, and a heart that’s willing to say “yes.”
Here are the qualities required to foster with us:
Stable Home Life
Foster parents must be single individuals or married couples. For the child’s stability, couples must be legally married (unmarried partners living together cannot be approved).
Age Requirement
You must be 21 years or older to foster.
Healthy Enough to Care
A licensed medical provider must confirm you are healthy enough to provide daily care and supervision for children.
Financial Stability
You must be able to support your household without relying solely on foster care payments. Foster families receive financial and tax benefits, but children deserve a home built on more than money.
Safe and Secure Environment
Everyone over 18 living in the home must complete and pass a background check. This ensures every child is placed in a safe, supportive environment.
